Datacenter Operations Technician
       
  Hours:
    Hours will vary depending upon most efficient skill allocation for each shift, night and weekend shifts may be required.
       
  Responsibilities:
    Customer Support
      Technicians must be capable of providing quality customer support in a time efficient manor.  This includes supporting enterprise level customers with networking and server configuration issues , over the phone and utilizing our web based support system. 
       
    Troubleshooting
 
  • Candidate must have the ability to follow a logical thought process in order to resolve basic server hardware, networking and operating system problems.  
  • Perform general server hardware troubleshooting on a daily basis on a wide variety of equipment.
  • Knowledge of common Operating Systems that include but are not limited to: Windows Server, FreeBSD, and Linux(various distributions).   
  • Complete physical network troubleshooting in the form of cable creation, testing, location and repair as well as network hardware diagnostics are required.  
  • Demonstrate basic network troubleshooting ability, such as interpretation of a traceroute and diagnostics of common network anomalies.
    Communication
 
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate with customer base effectively in an effort to resolve technical issues.
  • Communicate with fellow technicians and supervisors effectively in order to span work across multiple shifts and coordinate work using available resources and procedures.
       
  Position Requirements:
 
  • Minimum of 2 years server configuration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of server OS experience.
  • Able to lift/move 40 - 50 lbs equipment on a daily basis.
  • Experience troubleshooting and installing operating systems and networking equipment.
